Collection: Leaves Turning Yellow and Curly

If your plant’s leaves are turning bright yellow and the soil feels wet and muddy, it’s likely a sign of overwatering. You may also notice blackened stem bases or the presence of fungus gnats, both common indicators. Overwatering usually happens when the plant is watered before it's ready or if it’s placed in an area with insufficient light. When plants sit in waterlogged soil, their roots can’t absorb enough oxygen, leading to root damage, which shows up as yellowing leaves.

To fix this, allow the soil to dry out more between waterings. If low light is part of the problem, consider adjusting the plant’s location to ensure it receives adequate light. As a last resort, repotting in dry soil might be necessary if you suspect root rot has set in.
